So, the meek knight would travel between the pear trees and the pines, betwixt oranges and figs.

It wouldn't be long before they reached an abbey, where they took sanctuary at sunset.

The nuns were kind and warm, but they cautioned the knight of their quest.

As you see, their soothsayer forsaw the knight's arrival, and had recieved a frightful prophecy, though they would not elaborate.

The nuns of the abbey urged the humble knight to stay, at least for three nights.

They would politely oblige, and the sisters there would feed and bathe them all three evenings.

When it was time to go, one of the sisters that the fair knight had grown quite fond of would approach.

A single tear rolling down her cheek, she handed the knight a copper coin, and then turned away.
